Affordable Housing
Richmondites are feeling the crunch as they're getting pushed out of the city. Despite high levels of construction affordable housing is still difficult to find.
Rents are high and supplies are low, and the lack of affordable housing options puts a strain on support services.
Rather than keeping developers in council pockets, I believe it’s important to hold them responsible, accountable and committed to the best interests of Richmondites.
Sustainability &
Environment
Richmond is an island filled with a natural habitat and a very productive ecosystem. But, with active and fast development we cannot sacrifice the beautiful nature that surrounds us.
I will strive to help our city be more sustainable in order to reduce the environmental impacts that come with city maintenance and growth.
New benchmarks must be set in order to conserve and protect the natural areas.
I will work with community partners and work towards long-term environmental efficiencies.
Property Tax
Change for Good
Understanding the impact of property taxes is critical for effective local policymaking.
COVID placed residents and businesses in dire straits. Property taxes, housing supply, and residential mobility are intertwined, but the management needs to be reassessed.
Property taxes need to be managed in a fiscally responsible way in order to balance residential and community needs and development.
Fiscal, responsible and accountable government means that we must make way for new people and new ideas.
I will work to offer equitable and transparent government, working for YOU and with YOU!
